Comparison of crestal bone loss around dental implants placed in healed sites using flapped and flapless techniques: a systematic review.

چکیده
BACKGROUND The aim of the present systematic review is to compare the crestal bone loss (CBL) around dental implants placed in healed sites using flapped and flapless surgical techniques. METHODS The focused question was, "Does flapped and flapless surgical technique influence CBL around dental implants placed in healed sites?" Databases were searched from 1975 up to and including May 2014 using different combinations of the following keywords: "crestal bone loss"; "dental implant"; "surgery"; "flap"; and "flapless." Unpublished data, experimental studies, letters to the editor, review articles, case reports, commentaries, and articles published in languages other than English were excluded. In all studies, the test group comprised implants placed using flapless surgery, and the control group, implants placed after reflection of a full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap. RESULTS Ten clinical studies were included. In five studies, CBL around implants was comparable between the test and control groups. In four studies, implants in the test group showed significantly less CBL compared with the control group. In one study, CBL was significantly higher in the test group than the control group. CONCLUSION CBL around dental implants placed in healed sites using flapped and flapless techniques is comparable.

Clinical parameters of implants placed in healed sites using flapped and flapless techniques: A systematic review
BACKGROUND Dental implant placement using flapless surgery is a minimally invasive technique that improves blood supply compared with flapped surgery. However, the flapless technique does not provide access to allow bone regeneration. OBJECTIVE The aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the clinical parameters following implant surgery in healed sites, using two procedures: flapped vs....
متن کاملClinical Parameters and Crestal Bone Loss in Internal Versus External Hex Implants at One Year after Loading
Introduction: The survival of an implant system is affected by the choice of antirotational design, which can include an external or internal hex. Implant success also is affected by the maintenance of the crestal bone around implants. The aim of present study was to evaluate the crestal bone loss and clinical parameters related to bone loss in patients loaded with an external or internal hex 3...

Background and Aim: Intraosseous implants can be placed using three different techniques: immediate, early, and delayed. The aim of this study was to compare the changes in the marginal bone level around implants after immediate and delayed im-plant placement. Materials and Methods: In the present prospective cohort study, 26 implants were placed in 26 patients divided into two groups. In grou...

Background and Aim: This retrospective study aimed to investigate the effects of surface roughness and implant body design on the amount of crestal bone loss around implant. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, dental records of 87 patients who received 139 implants were evaluated. The ITI group received 63 implants with moderate roughness, while the DIO group received 76 implan...
